A new pair of trunks?

Men are particularly well catered for when it comes to fashion in Sitges You can often find a complete line of clothing from each major designer here, rather than the one or two hot sellers that the bigger stores stock, with most stores having plenty of stock and a wide selection of sizes. A good pair of swim trunks are a must (unless you prefer the nudist beach) and there are plenty of stores which cater for all tastes and sizes. It should be the first item on your shopping list.

A gift for those at home.

Sitges has some beautiful art galleries with local artists inspired by the unique colours and lighting of the village. Dotted around the church are some superb galleries specialising in antiques and sculpture.

Pharmacies

Spain is a self-medicating country which means that you don’t have to see a doctor to get prescription. Most pharmacists speak English as well as other languages. Most items are kept behind the counter. Chemists rotate their opening hours after 9pm and during holidays and Sundays so you will always find at least one open.  If you are looking for general toiletries such as Shower Gels or Deodorants, then try one of the cosmetic shops on C.Parellades.

Spanish Wines

Sitges is just a short drive from the famous Cava producing Penedes region. The wines and cavas produced here are amongst Spain’s finest. The wine stores Perbaco on C.San Gaudenci and Vimesvi on C.Santiago Rusinol are part store, part wine bar. The staff in both are extremely knowledgeable and can guide you on your journey through the best wines from the region.

Supermarkets & Local Produce

If you are staying in Sitges in your own apartment, then there are several supermarkets. Bonpreu on C.San Gaudenci has an international section offering familiar brands. Mercadona, next to the train station is the largest supermarket in Sitges and offers excellent value for money. Spanish people live a healthy lifestyle, buying the ingredients for each meal, fresh each day. There are numerous small stores specialising in high quality food. Butchers, bakers, greengrocers, fishmongers and delicatessens are plentiful and offer a superb range of choice. Try the market above the Mercadona Supermarket for some of the freshest daily produce. Shopping in theses stores is an unhurried affair so you will need patience, but the end-result is worth the wait.

Although small in size, Sitges offers a wide variety of shops to choose from. After partying… shopping in Sitges is the next most popular religion!
