The Sitges Pride Cultural Program was formally launched on Sunday at the Hotel Romantic on Sunday evening with a lecture on Gay Film, hosted by Alberto Mira, Lecturer in European Film from Oxford.
Later on, on Sunday evening at the stunning Miramar Art Gallery, “The Fradogo Women” exhibition was formally launched. The exhibition will remain open throughout the Pride from 11am to 2pm and 5pm to 8pm. A commemorative limited edition print for Pride is available for purchase with proceeds going to the Lucia Foundation helping children with Aids in Barcelona.

This weekend, the Gay Village will play host to some spectacular shows, including Abba the Show, on Friday night at 21.30 followed by a spectacular fireworks display.
On Saturday Ivan Banderas will play at 21.15
Barbazul will play at 21.45 after Ivan.
And on Sunday, at 9pm, Jose Galisteo will play in the Gay Village.
All of the events and concerts on the paseo will be free. The Gay Village will open on Friday at 5pm.

We have some new info on the party planned for The Terramar Gardens in Sitges on the 10th and 11th of July. The Gardens can hold up to 5000 people. There will be a huge outdoor foam party and a large cruising forest.
The Decadanse party will kick off from 12am and continue until 6am. The park is just 10 minutes walk from the Gay Village…but there will be free buses from outside the Calipolis Hotel for those who don’t fancy the walk to the park! More details about the acts and the shows to follow! VIP tickets will also be available.

Last weekend saw the AFGAL volunteers head off to Gran Canaria to prepare the Gay Pride Sitges float for Maspalomas Pride.
Lady Diamond and Miss Ruby were accompanied by DJs and photographers to put on a show that would show the 50,000 participants in Gran Canaria Pride just what Sitges has to offer..
We met many familiar faces… visitors to Sitges, who will be coming for Pride and many new ones who will be first time visitors this year!
Thousands of Maps and Gay Pride Flyers were handed out all weekend in the Yumbo centre and during the 5 hour parade though the streets of Maspalomas..
The event was an ideal opportunity for Gay Pride Sitges to publicise their very own pride to an international audience.
As well as the hunderes of official photographs which you can see here, several thousand were taken by tourists, keen to get a shot of our ES boys, our special guests Lady and Ruby and of course their assistants.. Ivana and Hernan..
The weather topped 30 degrees..so it was hard work.. and we had a lot of willing volunteers to come on to the Sitges float.. indeed it was one of the most popular!
AFGAL would like to thank all of the people involved in putting together the float and promoting the event throughout Gran Canaria.
A big thanks too to Sitges Tourism.. without their sponsorship of the event, the trip would not have been possible.
