Kick off Carnival with Noche de las Mantilas

Kick off Carnival in style with Noche del Las Mantillas… the tradition start of the gay Carnival in Sitges. Begin the evening at L’Angle with a very special dinner and then continue to Comodin, on C.Taco. This is probably the busiest night of the year in Comodin…great fun and prizes for the best costume. A Mantilla, in case you are wondering, is a lace or silk scarf traditionally worn by women over the hair and shoulders, especially. in Spain. Of course, it being Carnival… everyone wears one!

Noche de las Mantillas at Comodin – Carnival 2013

Sitges Carnival’s longest running Gay Party took place last night at Comodin.

For more than 30 years, visitors and friends have been dressing up in Mantillas to win prizes for the best outfits.

Last night the cosy bar was packed to capacity.

Comodin, located in the old town, is famous for its drag shows.

The bar is open every night throughout the Carnival period.

Comodin – Fiesta de la Mantilla

Comodin is hosting its traditional “Mantillas” night on Tuesday the 5th of February. It marks the beginning of Carnival and is always a busy night of fun, music and costumes. There are prizes for the boy or girl with the best Mantilla.

For those who don’t know, a Mantilla is a woman’s lace or silk scarf covering the shoulders and head, often worn over a comb in the hair and is very traditional in Spain. Previous years have seen some interesting versions of the Mantilla, so don’t miss out on this carnival party.

Comodin – Gran Show – July 2012

The Gran Show in Comodin takes place nightly during the Summer Season with some spectacular acts on the weekend.

Comodin, one of the oldest gay bars in Sitges is always a popular venue.

Located in Sitges old town, the atmosphere is always warm and friendly.

Sitges Carnival 2012 – at Comodin…

Comodin will host its “Mantillas Night” on Valentines night, the 14th of February. It is one of the busiest pre-carnival parties so get to the bar early as it fills up from around 12. It is a great show with some nice prizes.

Tuesday night at Comodin and it was their opening night of Carnival.

The Fiesta de las Mantillas is one of the most popular nights of the Gay Carnival.

The nights continue with different parties in the various gay bars in Sitges..

This years costumes were stunning and it was hard to tell the girls from the boys.

The main Carnival kicks off on Thursday with the arrival of the king.

Comodin is located on C. Taco in Sitges old town.

Tuesday night and it was off to Comodin..

One of the oldest gay bars in Sitges, Comodin’s night is one of the most traditional… the Mantillas.. (Headdress)

The bar was packed to capacity from 12am…

And prizes were awarded to the prettiest ladies in the audience..

There was plenty of competition with lots of amazing outfits..and this year’s trophy was beautifully made.

Comodin Sitges – Fiesta de la Mantilla
