Sitges Carnival 2017 – Route changes and more..
Sitges Carnival has undergone something of a transformation with a new opening show, new parade route and renewed focus on quality.
After several consultations over the past year, Sitges Carnival 2017 ushers in some new life and ideas into what is one of the world’s top 10 Carnivals. There’s still time to plan your trip with hotels and apartments offering great deals for the weekend!
The arrival of the King on Thursday at Plz.Fragata at 8pm, sees 170 people take to the stage in an opening extravaganza that is to set the scene for the theme and energy of the 2017 event.
Sunday’s and Tuesday’s parade will also take place at 7.30pm and 9pm respectively.
The route of the main parade has also been radically altered. The parade will start from Av Sofia, (Hotel Calipolis) and then make its way across the seafront with the live TV recording taking place at Picnic. There will be seated areas along the seafront route. The event will then make its way past the Hotel Subur and up to Espalter, finishing off on Calle San Francesc and arriving at Cap de la Vila.
Of course the gay bars and clubs will host their own traditional theme nights with things kicking off during the weekend before the official carnival and the traditional “Mantillas” night at Bar Comodin kicking off 7 days of crazy parties and events.
