The Death of the King and Sitges Carnival/Carnaval 2011…
Last night the king was laid to rest and in a fitting tribute donated his Carnival Float to Gay Pride Sitges 2010….
Although a little colder and wetter than normal, the Carnival Spirit was amazing and a huge thank you to all of the organizers, associations, performers, business owners and security forces for ensuring this was one spectacular Carnival.
Sitges Carnival 2011 takes place a little later than previous years. The event kicks off on the 3rd of March with the Arrival of the King. The parade dates are Sunday the 6th and Tuesday the 8th of March 2011. And remember the Gay Carnival kicks off the week before on Sat 27th February 2011 at Bourbons. Just so you can plan for next year!!

Carnival Sitges 2010 – The Streets of Sitges..
As we made our way from Bar to Bar over the past 10 days, we occasionally got a shot of someone on the street.
It being Carnival… people seem to be in the mood to show off what they’ve got!

As you can see… costumes everywhere…
And the girls at Queenz….. celebrating their First Carnival in Sitges…

Carnival 2010 – Tuesday Night Parade – Rua de l’Extermini
Carnival in Sitges on Tuesday night was amazing.
The parade went on despite the rain and the atmosphere was electric.
The parade made its way through the town as revelers partied on the street.
The Carnival finishes on Wednesday with the burial of the King.
The route makes its way from the Town Hall, Jesus, Cap de la Vila, Vidal, San Danien and finishes at San Sebastian.

Carnival 2010 – Bourbons Bar – Tue Feb 16th…
Tuesday night and as the parade was finishing up it was time to visit Bourbons Bar.
C.Bonaventura was full with people moving from Bourbons to Azul and Mediterraneo…
Bourbons was full with Carnival Performers, locals and visitors…

Sitges Carnival 2010 – Bar Azul – Tue Feb 16th
Bar Azul may be petite…but it can certainly pack in the punters during Carnival.
The bar was full of lots of cute guys and crazy costumes last night.
Bar Azul is located on C.Bonaventura and is open every night.

Carnival 2010 – Parrots Pub – Tue Feb 16
Tuesday Night and after the main parade it was off to Parrots Pub.
The usual Carnival mayhem ensued…
Costumes, boys, girls and everything in-between came through the doors of the pub last night.
Parrots Pub finishes off Carnival tonight, Wednesday and then reopens shortly before the Easter Weekend.

Sitges Carnival 2010 – Sauna Sitges Fiesta del Paquette – Feb 15th 2010.
Monday night and Sauna Sitges Carnival Party kicked off at 3am..
Its a late night..but great fun…
Lots of the local bar and club owners mix it up with the tourists for a great night out.

Sitges Carnival – 2010 – Oreks Prize Night
It was a full house in Oreks Bar last night.
The bar hosted their traditional Prize Night..
Some amazing dresses were given away…
Oreks is open throughout Sitges Carnival 2010.

Carnival 2010 – Sitges Sunday Night Parade –
Sunday Night and at about 9.30 pm the parade route eventually made its way through the town.
It was still going four hours later despite the rather nippy temperatures.
The streets were packed solid..so numbers are definitely up..
Last nights Parade was the Rua de la Disbauxa.. or the night of Debauchery.
We had several photographers covering the event, so photos are still being processed, but we have 2 galleries live already along with all the photos of the bars last night. More to come later. And if you are out tonight see you at Sauna Sitges Late Carnival Party from 3am, Oreks Prize Night and Lady Diamond’s show at Queenz. Enjoy!
