Comodin Fiesta de la Mantilla

Comodin is hosting its traditional “Mantillas” night on Tuesday the 5th of February. It marks the beginning of Carnival and is always a busy night of fun, music and costumes. There are prizes for the boy or girl with the best Mantilla.

For those who don’t know, a Mantilla is a woman’s lace or silk scarf covering the shoulders and head, often worn over a comb in the hair and is very traditional in Spain. Previous years have seen some interesting versions of the Mantilla, so don’t miss out on this carnival party.

Sitges Carnival 2013

Each of the bars in Sitges host a unique and different party during the Carnival. This Year “La Villa” has decided to extend their theme to an entire weekend. The theme….”The Kilt Party”.

The official party is on Friday the 8th of February. And as the poster says… “Do you have the balls to wear one?”……

Sitges Carnival 2013

Sitges Carnival takes place from Wednesday February 6th to the 13th. Traditionally the gay bars El Candil and Comodin have their kick-off parties on the Sunday(3rd) and Tuesday(5th) before the main events.

If you have never been to this event then we recommend it 110%. The city is alive with atmosphere and more than 200,000 people take to the streets on the Sunday and Tuesday nights of the Parade. Check out this video for a teaser to get a glimpse of the madness and mayhem. (Its in Spanish, but don’t worry, there’s not much talking – its all about the party).

Christmas in Sitges

Happy Christmas to all of our visitors. If you are in Sitges this holiday season, don’t forget to pay a visit to La Villa during the evening for some great cocktails in their amazing garden terrace. With the weather keeping to a mild 20 degrees, its going to be a warm Christmas in town.

Privilege will be open every night throughout the Christmas period. They also have a special night planned for New Year’s Eve with the bar opening at 10.30pm offering complimentary Cava and the traditional 12 grapes to see in 2013! Or pop in and say hello to Joel and Giles at Oreks for a night of French Flair!

Queenz, Locacola, El Horno, Dark Sitges and Bar Azul will also be open so enjoy your time in the town!
