Like everything else they celebrate, the Catalan’s put their own twist on Easter Celebrations. The town will be busy this weekend with many people comming for their easter holidays. All of the bars are open so make the most of it. One thing you will notice on your trip is the size and variety of their Easter Eggs. More of a cross between an egg and a cake, the “Mona” is a whimsical chocolate and pastry creation given in the same way we give Easter eggs.
So if you are looking to get your boyfriend that perfect chocolate gift, we suggest you take a trip into Barcelona and head for the Bubo Bar and Chocolate shop on Caputxes 10.
Chic and fattening at the same time, you won’t be able to resist the delicious creations that this bar serves up. And their easter eggs are like works of art!
Happy Easter or as they say in Catalan, Felices Pasques.

Assuming you have the perfect apartment or Guest Room, take breakfast in one of the many cafes facing the sea. Then pop on the train to Barcelona and head for CatheHelicopters. Barcelona is a beautiful city and its architecture looks even more amazing from the Sky. It really is romantic as you take in the breataking views over the mountains and down into the city itself.
Do some shopping when you finish… we recommend something expensive with a diamond or two… or for those looking for something more unique, try the Encants Vells or “Old Gems” market whch is a cross between a jumble sale and an antiques market. Great fun!
On your return to Sitges, stop off at the Hotel Romantic for a nice cool crisp glass of Cava.
Then after your little Siesta, head out for a nice dinner. Want something traditionally delicious, then try Monroe's. Want something different and exotic, they try Siithai. Want to blow your budget, then try La Fragata. A full list of restaurants is available here.
After dinner, the entire of Sitges will be at your feet. As its Carnival every bar, club and late night cafe will be open and packed with people out to partry!
So enjoy!

If you are in Sitges this week and fancy a bit of a cultural break with a difference, then head into Barcelona and take in the Tap Dogs Show. From tomorrow (Jan 9th) to Jan 13th the show takes place in the Teatre Tivoli , C/ Casp 8 in the Eixample district.
Six strapping aussies in jeans, blundstone boots and onstage percussionists provide one of the most energetic 90 minutes of stage show action that you are ever likely to see!
The show was made famous in Australia over 11 years ago and has been a huge hit ever since. For further details visit Tap Dogs Site.Watch a preview of the show below:
The building is equipped with an innovative system of illuminations which will provide an original show of light and music to accompany the chimes.
Sparklers and fireworks are set-off right in front of you without warning.
The crowds are large, but it is a very well-behaved event. The police are even on hand to help you drink your Cava. (Plastic Glasses of course).
Don't forget your twelve grapes….. read all about the tradition.
And see you back in Sitges later on!

Like most people visiting Sitges for the Christmas break, you are probably staying in an apartment. Don't forget to brighten it up with some Christmas cheer. The Fira de Santa Llúcia has been delighting us with traditional Christmas Fair since 1786. With over 300 stalls selling handmade decorations and gifts, christmas trees and mistletoe be sure to check it out if you are in Barcelona over the next few days.
Fira de Santa Llúcia, Pla de la Seu & Avda de la Catedral, Metro Jaume I, Dec 2-23, www.firesifestes.com.
Get decked up…. in Style – Maremàgnum
Or perhaps you would rather decorate yourself! Maremàgnum is an exclusive black mirrored shopping centre that is now over 10 years old and has become a Barcelona shopping institution. It has been recently redecorated and has a new lease of life. Gone are the gaudy discos and back are the trendy shops and restaurants. Check out Xocoa for some delicious chocolate treats or visit the family market on the ground floor where they have every sweet you can imagine.
Moll d’Espanya, Port Vell (93 225 81 00/www.maremagnum.es). Metro Drassanes. Open 10am-10pm daily.
Get into the Christmas Spirit…. Vila Viniteca
Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without some Christmas Spirits. We just adore Vila Viniteca a family-run business which now boasts over 6,000 different wines and spirits in Stock. From the very cheap (€2 bottles of table wine) to the very expensive (1953 Damoiseau rum – €500) they have just added a new food shop which is perfect for fine cheeses, cured meets, olive oils and other delicacies.
Spain's religious orders have been hiding a secret fro many years! No nothing so evil.. just some delicious traditional food and drink made from some amazing flavours. Imagine such combinations as eucalyptus and orange liqueur all wrapped up in some beautiful pacakaging. You can even taste the food before you decide to buy any item by eating in the onsite cafe which is located on the site of a medieval thermal bath.
C/Palla 8, Barri Gòtic (93 302 69 93). Metro Liceu.
Remember, most stores will close early on Christmas Eve and not re-open until after Boxing Day/Stephen's Day and some will stay closed for a few days extra in preparation for the awesome January sales….
