Gay Pride Sitges took part at the official Barcelona Pride Parade on Sunday 28th June.
A huge thank you to those who took part and to all of those from Sitges who made the effort to leave the beach and head to Barcelona to support the promotion of both the Pride event and the town of Sitges itself, to the biggest audience possible, just a 30 minutes train journey away.
A special thank you to Luis Enriquez, President of AFGAL, The Markatu Band, the AFGAL Volunteers, Lady Diamond and Miss Ruby who yesterday were probably the most photographed people in Barcelona (even appearing in National Daily El Periódico), the staff of XXL and Hernan, Ivan and Victor from Parrots, whose costumes, energy and enthusiasm are an inspiration!
See you in Sitges for Pride in July, less than 2 weeks away. You can view all of the photos of the Pride Parade on Gay Sitges Guide’s gallery below. We had 4 photographers covering the event, so more photos will be added of the other floats during the week! Enjoy.

Gay Pride Sitges took a stand at the official Gay Village in Barcelona at the weekend.
The Village had over 50,000 visitors over 2 days and thousands of maps, programs and Gay Pride Sitges merchandise were given away, promoting not only the Pride, but the town of Sitges itself to an international audience, many of whom had never been to Sitges before! The stand was also filmed by all of the major Spanish and International Television Stations.
We had many well-known Barcelona faces drop-in to say hello. The organisers would also like to pay a huge thanks to Brandon Jones, Ernesto and Michael for volunteering their time at the weekend to promote Sitges for AFGAL members. Their efforts ensured the stand was manned from 8.00hrs until 22.00hrs on Saturday and Sunday night.
The very hot, Ivan Banderas, who will sing at Sitges Pride on the Saturday night in the gay village was also at the Stand.
We also expect a lot of local Barcelona boys to attend the 5 day Sitges Pride, many looking forward to having their first every beach-side Pride! In fact Gay Pride Sitges is one of the few major Prides in Europe to host the main events by the sea!
Over the two days, we met all sorts of characters, all planning on visiting Sitges for the event… its going to be a colourful Pride to say the least.
The Mayor of Barcelona,Jordi Hereu, also visited the Stand.
Luis Enriquez, President of AFGAL, presented him with the official program and CD anthem for Sitges Pride!
And of course a final thank-you to Raul, who even stayed behind at the stand during the Pride Parade itself to ensure the town was promoted non-stop throughout the afternoon!
