Gay Pride Sitges – Closing Night at L’Atlantida
/in Clubs, Events, Pride/by keith@gaysitgesguide.comLike all good things, Pride has come to an end.
And it came to a fitting end at L’Atlantida..
The club has never seen so many people dressed-up for a party before! Gaggles of drag queens (we think that is the term) mingled with circuit boys, tourists, locals, journalists, vips.. you name it.
The weather was perfect as the Mediterranean Breeze washed away the sultry heat from one of the hottest July’s we’ve seen in Sitges for a long time. It must have been all the hot bodies in Sitges last weekend.
And yes, of course there will be a Gay Pride Sitges 2011! AFGAL are working on the dates and they will be announced on the official Gay Pride Sitges Site soon.
We would like to thank all of you for your kind comments and emails over the past few days.
We would also like to thank the people of Sitges for embracing Pride and taking it to their hearts. It really was an entire Village occasion.
To all of those who dressed-up, you put some sparkle on the streets, that’s for sure.
To all of our advertisers, we hope that you received your fair share of visitors from the event and that your parties were a success.
To the volunteers and from Sitges and Barcelona, it would have been impossible without you.
To our own team of photographers including Joan, Javier, Maria, Michael and Kate, thank you.. we are still batching as of today!!
To Lady Diamond for taking charge of our float, picking some of the most delightful boys and dancing her way through Sitges during the parade in 34 degree heat, thank you!
To Gary for styling and being the best VIP anyone could ask for. To Ruby for her PR Skills, amongst many others, to the lovely Americans, Ernesto and Michael, for carrying, lifting, running and well just being there, thank you!
To all of the board of AFGAL for your time and patience during the 3 days as well as the many meetings beforehand, thank you.
To Doug at Hotel Parrots for all of the work, effort and patience in designing flyers, coping with guests and just keeping us sane!
To all of those who dressed up for the Parades in Maspalomas and Barcelona, including the staff at XXL and Victor, Ivan and Hernan from Parrots, thank you.
To Luis Enriquez for all his hard work and to his partner, Sebastian for his patience and French sense of humour and to Hector and Ian for their continued dedication, thank you!
To our sponsors San Miguel, without whom it would have been impossible to hold such an event. To Sitges Tourism for their resources and assistance. To the Council for their support and guidance, to the Police, Fire Service and Red Cross, your assistance and support was superb.
To the people at Gaydar for their marketing support and continued encouragement and assistance, thank you.
And finally, to our video production crew, Hector and his Team as well as to our new friends and videographer extraordinaire, Gabbi and her gang of colourful drag queens, thank you! We hope we haven’t left anyone out, there were so many involved.
Gay Pride Sitges – Jose Galisteo in Concert – Sunday
/in Clubs, Events, Pride/by keith@gaysitgesguide.comSunday night Jose Galisteo performed all of his hits live on the promenade.
The atmosphere was amazing as Spain had just won the world cup!
The entire town of Sitges gathered with local visitors to celebrate both the victory and the pride…. young, old, gay and straight all together having fun and dancing until 3am.
It was a perfect end to the Party on the Promenade.
Galisteo sang a range of songs from famous Spanish numbers to his international hits.
Aftewards the crowds danced to the disco beats, mixed by L’Atlantida supremo, Hector Noms.
A special thank you to all of the volunteers who worked the bar area. At times the queues were long, but everyone was served with a smile…

One Successful Gay Pride Sitges & One World Cup!
/in Events, Pride, Sports/by keith@gaysitgesguide.comTo say that the atmosphere in Sitges on Sunday night was “electric” would be an understatement.
We were in the centre of town when Spain scored the winning goal.
The streets went crazy, people were crying with joy, it was an amazing sight!
It was the perfect end to the perfect weekend.
After, it was off to the Gay Village where all of Sitges went to celebrate!

Gay Pride Sitges – Circuit T Dance
/in Clubs, Events, Pride/by keith@gaysitgesguide.comThe Gay Pride T Dance took place on Sunday the 10th of July.
L’Atlantida is the perfect place for a beach party and although we missed many of our Spanish friends who were indoors for the football matches, the atmosphere was still electric.
Guys from all around the world danced ’till sunset.
Gaydar boys were out in force with presents for everyone.
L’Atlantida is located just 10 minutes from Sitges and a free bus from the Calipolis hotel leaves every 15 minutes.
The club is one of the few last remaining outdoor dance venues in Europe.
This year it was completely refitted with amazing lighting and sound fittings.
The L’Atlantida dancers have become a must-photo group when you see them touring the town on nights before a big event.
This August, L’Atlantida will host another special T Dance on the first weekend of August.
The official closing of the Circuit Party will take place at the club.
So perhaps we will see you in Sitges once more to dance until the sun-sets.
The party will kick off at 5pm and end at midnight.
A series of after-parties are also planned.

Decadanse – The Party in the Park – Gay Pride Sitges 2010.
/in Clubs, Events, Pride/by keith@gaysitgesguide.comSaturday night during Pride and the Party in the Park took place at the Terramar Gardens.
Decadanse, the Party in the park attracted nearly 2,000 partygoers on Saturday night, with more than 1,200 on Friday night.
The Park, just 10 minutes from the centre of Sitges was transformed into a gay wonderland.
With a huge dancefloor and stage area including a live performance by the Gaydar boys and singers, it was the perfect place for those who like to party ’till 6am.
The other attractions were the foam in the fountain and the forest… yes the forest was unbelievably popular…
Decadanse will return to Sitges Pride in 2011..
It was one of the highlights of the Pride party circuit.
You can check out the rest of the photos on Gay Sitges Guide below.
The party attracted people from all around the world.
It was a great end to a Saturday which saw almost 40,000 people on the streets of Sitges for the Parade earlier on that afternoon.
Reports from hotels, shops and restaurants show that the weekend has been a huge success both from a visitor perspective and for businesses, introducing Sitges to a brand new group of customers.
Nearly 30 percent of tickets sold at the ticket office were to people who had never before been to Sitges. And all of them had one thing to say, “We will be back and next time, for even longer”
