Last call for Sitges Calendar
To be in time for Christmas (yeah I know, but it is a Calendar), our friend Philippe will be taking his last shots this month. Fireworks from the Sea!
If you come to Sitges to see the fireworks next year, you may want to consider chartering a boat and watch the event from the sea!
The entire event takes on a complete new appearance from the sea as you watch the fireworks explode over the entire village.
You can charter anything from a simple scooner to a magnificent yacht….or find a nice boy who might intive you to a private party!

Most departures are from the port of Aiguadolce, which is located in Sitges.
You can also set sail from Barcelona and take a spectacular trip along the Iberian/Mediterranian coast, possibly the most memorable way to arrive in Sitges… but whatever you do, we can definitely recommend taking in the fireworks from the sea!
September in Style
September is a very busy month in Sitges, with another major Festival (Santa Tecla), the Wine Harvest Festival and 2 major bears events, including Mr. Bear Sitges. Accommodation is booking fast, and we have just heard of limited availability at Vinyet Deluxe Apartments.

Fiesta Mayor – Fireworks and Street Parades

Living in the old town, we are very lucky to have the privilege of seeing the parades make their way through the narrow streets of Sitges right past our front door! Enjoy the photos!

Tonight the Fire Parade takes place in the old town from 10pm. The route includes, Bastion, Miquel Utrillo, Racó de la Calma, Fonollar, Sant Joan, Davallada, Barcelona, Aigua, Sant Domingo, Nou and La Fragata.

Friday – Fiesta Mayor Details
There are some very early parades (circa 6am), so it should be interesting to see people comming home late from the bars and mixing with the early morning tourists!
The main event tonight is the Saint Bartholomew Procession & Traditional Folk Dances which kicks off at The Bastion at 7.30pm
The route is as follows, Bastion, Fonollar, Sant Joan, Davallada, Barcelona, Santiago Rusiñol, Jesús, Sant Bartomeu, Sant Gaudenci, Sant Francesc, Cap de la Vila Square, Parellades, Bonaire, La Ribera Esplanade, Nou, Major, Town Hall Square, Bastion.
La Ribera Esplanade, 20:15. Sardanas (Catalan Folk Dance): «Cobla S. Jordi-Ciutat de Barcelona».
Cap de la Vila Square, 23:00. Sardanas (Catalan Fol. Dance): «Cobla S. Jordi-Ciutat de Barcelona», «Cobla Jovenívola de Sabadell».
La Ribera Esplanade, 23:00. Open-air dance with orchestras:
La Banda del Drac and Disco Móvil Platja d’Aro.

Its here! Fiesta Mayor really kicks off Today. Tonight sees one of the most spectacular fireworks displays you are every likely to see anywhere in the world… and thats no exaggeration!
12.00 Cap de la Vila Square Gralla concert (A traditional high-pitched horn)
14:00 Fragata Beach, Churches, . 21 morterets (mortar-like explosions). Ringing of the bells.
14:00 Town Hall Square-Cap de la Vila Square, Sardanas (Catalan folk dance) & other traditional dances.
18:00 Cap de la Vila Square, Human towers: «Colla Jove de Castellers de Sitges». View Gallery
19:00 Flag Procession. Traditional dances
Route Bonaire, Parellades, Marqués de Montroig, Plaça Industria, Primer de Maig, Paseo de La Ribera, Sant Pere, Parellades, Cap de la Vila, Major, Plaça de l’Ajuntament y llegada a la Parroquia.
