More than 80,000 people have visited Sitges during the Pride events this weekend..

Hotels and apartments were booked solid..

This year the parade kicked off a little later than usual..

It was hot, but nothing was going to deter the participants on the 24 floats for the parade…

The event was lead by the ES float and their very hot boys…

Once again the bars, clubs and businesses of Sitges really put a lot of work into their costumes, themes and floats..

It was a sea of feathers, sequins and speedos…

We have everything from the wild west to burlesque..

And in the middle Markatu, the famous local Sitges drum band lead the way for lead sponsor Gaydar and their very hot Gaydar boys..

The parade took 2 hours to make its way through the seafront as a packed audience parties along with the participants..

The whole event was a real community affair..

To everyone who took part.. you were amazing. To everyone who saw it, you know what we mean. To everyone who didn’t here is the proof you needed, if ever, that Sitges knows how to throw a party like no other place on earth. Enough said.. we’ll let the photos do the talking!

Sunday Night and at about 9.30 pm the parade route eventually made its way through the town.

It was still going four hours later despite the rather nippy temperatures.

The streets were packed solid..so numbers are definitely up..

Last nights Parade was the Rua de la Disbauxa.. or the night of Debauchery.

We had several photographers covering the event, so photos are still being processed, but we have 2 galleries live already along with all the photos of the bars last night. More to come later. Highlights of the “Rua de l’Extermini” Tuesday Parade.

Sunday night was the first of two huge Carnival parades that takes place every year. Here are a selection of photos from the central square where the show is broadcast for TV. We’ll let the photos do the talking! Enjoy…

Thursday 19th February

7pm – Arrival of the Carnival King – La Fragata

Immediately afterwards, the king and his entourage make their way to Can Bota Park to choose the Carnival Queen. Via – Psg de la Ribera and Espanya

7.45pm – The choosing of the Carnival Queen
The king will continue to the Town Hall accpmpanied by Markatu Batucada and Timbasio.

His majest will adress the townspeople at the Town Hall and read the “Predicot”

Sunday 22nd February

9pm – “Disbauxa” Parade Défilé de la Disbauxa (Rua de la Disbauxa)

Cap de la Vila, Parellades, Bonaire, Passeig de la Ribera, Fragata,l’Avinguda Sofiaand return to carrer Espanya,Plaça Espanya, Espalter, Sant Francesc, Cap de la Vila.

Tuesday 24th February

9pm – “Extermination” Parade Défilé de l’Extermini (Rua de l’Extermini)

Cap de la Vila, Parellades, Bonaire, Passeig de la Ribera,Fragata, l’Avinguda Sofia and return to carrer Espanya, Plaça Espanya, Espalter, Sant Francesc, Cap de la Vila.

Wednesday 25th February

7pm – The Kings Funeral Procession

Plaça Ajuntament, Major, Cap de la Vila, Parellades, Bonaire, Passeig de la Ribera (les

Barques beach / plage de les Barques).

8.30pm – Burial of the King

- Passeig de la Ribera (les Barques beach / plage de les Barques).
