This year’s annual Corpus Crisit festival takes place on the 13th and 14th of June. The streets of Sitges are carpeted with flower petals and the giants of Sitges make their return for a season of festivals and events that will last until the end of September.
Schedule: – Saturday 13th of June
The Giants arrive at 7pm Plaça de l’Ajuntament and then make their way through town via Major, Cap de la Vila, Parellades, Sant Josep, Sant Gaudenci, Sant Francesc, Cap de la Vila, Major i Plaça de l’Ajuntament.
From about 8pm that evening the streets are marked up with their different designs and the locals on each street spend the night putting the finishing touches to their works of art.
Schedule: – Sunday 14th of June
On Sunday you can spend the day viewing the amazing street carpets. Then the procession of the Giants takes place through the town via the following route:
7pm: Plaça de l’Ajuntament, Major, Nou, Passeig de la Ribera, Bonaire, Parellades, Sant Pau, Passeig de la Ribera, Nou, Major i Plaça del Baluard, after which there is a Mass for 30minutes.
Then at 8.30pm the procession continues via Plaça del Baluard, Plaça Miquel Utrillo, Fonollar, Baluard Vidal i Quadres, Barcelona, Santiago Rusiñol, Jesús, Cap de la Vila, Major, Plaça de l’Ajuntament i Plaça del Baluard.
