If you were on the Ribera side of the church this year for the Fiesta Mayor Fireworks, then you may have had difficulty seeing many of the fireworks that were high in the sky, due mainly to the extreme humidity and the lack of any wind at sea, to blow the smoke away.
The best views were on the San Sebastian side of the church, particularly high-up by the Hotel Melia Sitges.
They were truly spectacular and despite the smokey view, the atmosphere on the beaches was amazing, as it always is in Sitges!
See you in Sitges for Fiesta Mayor – Festa Major 2011, when the fireworks will take place on Tuesday August 23rd. And remember you can view more fireworks and an amazing end of Summer festival in Stiges during Santa Tecla on September, 20th to 27th.
Fiesta Mayor Celebrations got off to a flying start this weekend with Lady Diamond and her crew hitting the streets of Sitges after a successful night of Talent Spotting!
It was like “Daisy Duke meets Manchester Royalty”
Parrots Pub and Terrace continue to be of the busiest bars in town throughout the season.
The Terrace opens from early in the morning, serving delicious breakfasts.

The Sitges Got Talent Show with Lady Diamond continues to go from strength to strength.
It must be something to do with its welcoming hostess.. she can certainly pull a crowd.
We were taken back to her convent days… before she was seduced by the charms of Sitges..
Even some of the staff got involved with a rendition of Love is in the Air!
Daisy Duke’s two missing Sisters also returned for their final night of talent in Sitges… We will miss you Michael and Ernesto..but don’t worry, you haven’t seen or heard the last of them.. we have some big news for you coming soon.
There was also a very cute guy who performed the Robbie classic, “Let me entertain you!”..
Yes, he was very entertaining.
The Manchester Royal Family also paid Sitges Got Talent a Visit.
They got up close and personal with some of the contestants!
And of course we couldn’t forget the lovely speedo boys…
Remember wear your swimming trunks and you get a free hat!!
Of course you will have to come up on stage for Lady to perform her “inspections”…
A great finish as always..making the Folies Bergère look positively Dutch..

The countdown is on for Sitges Fiesta Mayor. The town will be full of dancers, puppets, parades, fireworks and general mayhem! The main event is the amazing fireworks display which takes place on Monday the 23rd at 11pm. Our advice, with hundreds of thousands of people (no we are not making that up), get your place on the sea-front early to ensure you get the best view!

The fireworks were spectacular and the crowds were in record numbers.
We strongly encourage you to book your hotel for Fiesta Mayor well in advance. We had a lot of disappointed people on the phone last weekend who could not get to stay in Sitges for the festivities.
