Several thousand bears and their admirers descended upon Sitges this September. The annual September Bears Week has now become one of the best attended events of its kind in Europe. The dates for 2012 have been confirmed. The 9 day event will take place from the 3rd to the 11th of September.

The very popular Bears Week, Spring Edition dates have been confirmed. The event will take place from the 26th of April to the 1st of May and marks the traditional start of the Sitges Season. This year it will be joined by the Gay Spring Break Festival, so it will be quite a mixture of guys in Sitges!

Ruby’s Terrace has certainly proved a popular venue for Bears this September..

The terrace, which is right in the middle of the “BearZone” had standing room only last night..

Ruby however was no where to be seen.. it appears she is frightened of Bears.. so Ben stepped in to lend a helping hand!

Over the past 10 years, the Bears Week in September has grown into a truly international and unique event.

This year, the Bear Village in the Paseo has proven especially popular.

Located on the Bottom on C.Bonaire, next to the Churingito, it is the perfect meeting point for the Bears, admirers and friends.

Of course the streets of C.Bonaire and Joan Tarrida outside El Horno and XXL are still busy..

The Bears week finishes tomorrow, so tonight expect bars and the streets of Sitges to be full!

Friday night and Bears bar was full to capacity.

Bears Bar, the original home of the Bears in Sitges was full with bears, admirers and of course a visit from Lady Diamond…

Lady was there to say hello to all the bears as she made her way through the village..

The Bears week certainly attracts a complete mix of people…. Bears, admirers, cubs, chasers, muscle boys, twinks and the odd straight boy..

Its that relaxed atmosphere that makes the event so special. New friendships are easily made as the streets are full of friendly guys out for a good time.

This year the Gay Bear Village will be at the bottom of C.Bonaire on the Paseo. It is hoped that this will help cope with the volumes of visitors, meaning less noise-disturbance for the people living in the C.Bonaire area. It is also a great venue, right by the Mediterranean Sea.

On and a world of warning..the ladies don’t let their straight cubs go without a fight!

September sees the bears return to Sitges.

The international Bears Meeting kicks off on Monday, but the streets of Sitges are already packed with bears and their admirers every night.

The Bears arrived in force on Wednesday night in XXL.

We paid a visit to XXL, the home of the bears during the weekend event.
