Parrots Pub has installed a large video screen to show all of the matches for the Euro 2008. So even if you’re not into football… you can still admire the beautiful men who play!

This weekend saw some great surfing in Sitges. The weather was warm and the ocean swell provided some great surf right across Sitges.

Sufring is very popular in Sitges, especially late in the evening. Having said that, most of the surfers photographed here were from France, on an early holiday.

If you do fancy surfing, the best beach options are just before the Aiguadolc Port or up by the Terramar Hotel.

We’ll keep our eyes open for more surfers throughout the Summer Season.

The 25th Annual Sitges Mini Marathon takes place this Sunday, the 13th of January. The race kicks off at 10:00 am. At the Paseo de la Ribera. The arrival of the first runner is expected at 11:05 am.

One of the nice things about Sitges, is that no matter how low the temperature drops, it always seems to be warm by the beach… especially when the sun is shining.

This week, the sun shone a lot… and the sea was awash with sailing boats practising for the next regata.

We even saw the odd waverider close to the shore.. which is unusual. Normally these are only allowed out towards the sea or by the port area. He did some lovely water acrobatics!

If you are in Sitges and have transport, then try and get to Las Botigues de Sitges… its about 10 minutes drive from the centre of town, but the sunsets are amazing and the sunrises are even more spectaular.

Its especially popular with dog-walkers and guys out fishing in the early morning. Its unspoilt and offers uninterrupted views of the horizon so you can see the sun rise and set pefectly.

The 25th Annual Sitges Half Marathon takes place this January, 13th… so now is the time to get into training, if you want to be fit enough to run the race next year. For full details and an enrollment form, visit the official website.

The Barcelona World Race is a new two-handed, non-stop round the world yacht race starting on the 11th November, 2007 [and to be held every four years]. For the first time, this race will see the world’s best professional sailors from both solo and fully crewed disciplines coming together to compete against each other in teams of two.

The race will pass Sitges on Sunday and should make a spectacular sight as it passes by the shore. You can view a copy of the promotional video below.
