While the rest of Spain seems to be suffering a cold spell… Yesterday, Sitges was enjoying an unseasonably warm afternoon!

And as the Surf came up, the weather was perfect for the Surfing boys of Sitges to come out and play! Its been a while since we saw them out!

The Big Kahuna Store offers everything you need in Sitges to go surfing and is located at the end of C.Jesus.

Most of the surfing takes place beyond the Calipolis hotel, closer to the Terramar end of Sitges… as San Sebastian Beach currently resembles a building site to make way for the promenade that will connect the nudist beach area of Balmins to the heart of the town!

A record number of athletes turned up for the Sitges Half Marathon on Sunday…

And despite the recent cold weather, the day turned out to be quite beautiful

Another record was set when the event was run by Roger Roca beating more than 2500 competitors to claim the title.

The Sitges Half Marathon takes place this Sunday the 11th of January at 10am and leaves from Psg de La Ribera. The event is well attended and marks the first in series of sporting events taking place in Sitges in 2009.

The weather this weekend has been pretty windy in Sitges… with amazing waves and swells…

So much so that it attracted some major surfing talent into Sitges for the weekend.

Most of the surfing took place by the port but those who were by San Sebastian Beach were given a great display for over an hour.

You can see the surfers most evenings by the Terramar Hotel in Sitges during the winter months….

This Sunday, the 10 hour Sitges basketball marathon takes place at Pins Vens. Its well worth a visit and its amazing to see the marathon last throughout the day.

The 2008 Beach Tennis Masters take place this weekend at La Fragata Beach. Watch as contestants from all over Catalunya take part in the finals.

This was the scene (above) this morning as Sitges woke up to another record-high day…. and also to the quarter finals of the Beach Volleyball competition as part of the Barcelona Eurogames 2008…

These boys certainly know how to play hard…

In the swealtering temperatures they still managed to perform…and thrill the audiences, both gay and straight alike..

The competition continues into Sunday….

The competiton is being held at La Fragata Beach, just in front of the Church…

This Saturday, the 21st of June, the annual Beach Rugby Sevens Championships take place on La Fragata Beach from 10am to 9pm. Its a great game and the perfect location for the games. See you there.
