The Barcelona to Sitges Car Rally took place this weekend..
The weather was stunning and so were the cars as they made their way through the mountain route to Sitges…
The cars then made their way through the town of Sitges..

As we mentioned earlier this week, the car rally takes a slightly different route because of the roadworks in Sitges. Not to worry though, it still ends up where it always does. You can check out the route below.

As we mentioned previously, the 51st Sitges Vintage Car Rally takes place this weekend.
The Cars will be on display in Barcelona from the 7th of March at Passeig dels Til.lers del Parc from 10am to 5pm. They will then make their way through Barcelona to Sitges on the 8th arriving at the Port by 12.30pm. The town route is slightly different this year, due to the ongoing town improvements at San Sebastian Beach.
The first of the cars will arrive at La Fragata Beachfront by about 1.pm. This year San Moritz are hosting a special beer reception, with all beers costing a symbolic €1. And to set that 1920’s mood, Sitges Swing Stompers Orchestra will be providing entertainment by the beachfront for the afternoon! See you on Sunday!
No sooner has one event finished, than another one arrives around the Corner. Just after Easter, the 50th Barcelona-Sitges Rally takes place on March 30th. Its well worth the trip. The cars are truly spectacular and are all pre 1920's vehicles. Expect some spectacular entries for the 50th anniversary.

The Sitges Car Rally 2007 took place this weekend amidst beautiful weather.
The cars looked amazing as they made their way around Sitges to the final viewing point at La Fragata Beach.
The 1920’s costumes were so authentic and added to the festive flair of the evening.
There were Model-T Fords, Convertibles, Chryslers.. you name it… they were there!

The Sitges Car Rally takes place every year on the third weekend in March.

If you are in Barcelona tomorrow, expect to see several Vintage Cars making there way to Plaça Sant Jaume. Although the rally doesn’t kick off until late Saturday, already there are many Vintage cars making there way up and down Las Ramblas in Barcelona.

If you can , make sure you get a good vantage point in Sitges to see not only the cars, but the amazing costumes the drivers and their passengers wear as they make their way through the narrow streets in their amazing automobiles.
The Sitges Car Rally is a true spectacle and truly marks the start of the Summer Season. The fact that it conincides with St.Patrick’s day is an added bonus!

Participants arrive and register at Plaça Marquès de Foronda (Montjuïc) in Barcelona. Cars will be on display until 5pm.
Sunday March 18th 08:30am to 10.30am
Cars gather together at Plaça Sant Jaume,
Race begins at 11:00am

Pl. Sant Jaume, c/Ferran, Rambles, Pl. Catalunya, Ronda Universitat, Ronda Sant Antoni, Sepúlveda, Paral.lel, Plaça Espanya, Gran Via, c/Badal, Constitució, (L’Hospitalet de Llobregat), Santa Eulàlia, Enric prat de la Riba, c/Barcelona, carretera de l’Hospitalet, Av. de la Fama, c/Tirso de Molina, Av. Baix Llobregat (Cornellà de Llobregat) empalme amb la C-245, Sant Boi de Llobregat, Viladecans, Gavà, Castelldefels, passa a C-246, Costes de Garraf, Port d’Aiguadolç (Sitges).
12.30pm (approximately)
Arrive at Port d’Aiguadolç for the winners reception at the port.
1.30pm
Cars make their way through Sitges via, l’Av. Balmins, Rafael Llopart, Jesús, Pl. Cap de la Vila, Parellades, Bonaire i Passeig de la Ribera, fins l’Av. Sofia, and then finally finish atla Fragata.
3pm to 6pm
Cars are on display to the public at Plaça de la Fragata
Monday March 19th, 10am
Cars make their way to the Museu del Ferrocarril in Vilanova i la Geltrú for an official dinner at Freixenet a Sant Sadurní d’Anoia.

The autos will leave, as is tradition, from the Sant Jaume Square in Barcelona and will arrive to Sitges after crossing the crazy route that crosses the Garraf coasts. The aim of the Rally is not to compete but to have fun and enjoy the atmosphere of beautiful classic cars.
