The Jack Daniel’s SITGES Zombie Walk 2011 will be held on October 14th, beginning at 20:30h at the Miramar Building (*), with the participation of the stars of the movie Juan de los Muertos for the starting signal, and will travel around Sitges until finishing at the Passeig de la Ribera promenade. Following the Zombie Walk there will be a free party on the beach (starting at 22:00 on the Passeig de la Ribera promenade) with performances by Los Tiki Phantoms, presented by the FIB (Benicássim International Festival) and DJ Niño (The Pinker Tones). The party will continue on 2 de Mayo Street, with the participation of the local bars and clubs and Jack Daniel’s.
And for the bigger film lovers, a new La Noche + Zombie Marathon at the Retiro Cinema starting at 1:00 at night with titles like DeadHeads, World of the Dead: The Zombie Diaries or Exit Humanity, among others.
* Starting at 12:00 noon there will be a free make-up zone set up in the Miramar Building (limited seats).

The 2010 Méliès d’Or Award – for Best European fantastic film went to BURIED a Spanish thriller starring Ryan Reynolds. The award was handed out at the Méliès d’Or award ceremony during the 43rd Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival in Spain, with director Rodrigo Cortés in attendance.
Paul Conroy is not ready to die. But when he wakes up 6 feet underground with no idea of who put him there or why, life for the truck driver and family man instantly becomes a hellish struggle for survival. Paul has only 90 minutes to be rescued before his worst nightmare comes true.
Sitges Zombie Walk is back and this year 2010 with a new route: entering via the village, willing to eat all its inhabitants! The walk will kick off at 20.30 at the Miramar building on Saturday the 9th of October.
If you want to take part you can be “zombified” for free at the Edifici Miramar from 14h (limited places).
This year’s annual Sitges Film Festival takes place over 10 days, from the 7th to the 17th of October. We were give a sneak peak at some of the best movies that are going to be on show and the line up is as impressive as ever.

Moon has been chosen as the overall winner of the Sitges Film Festival this year. This year’s festival was a huge success with more screenings than ever before. The movie will be in Cinemas here in November and is due for release across Europe.
The second annual zombie walk took place in Sitges on Saturday Night.
Zombies had been gathering all day and the trains from Barcelona to Sitges were frightening!
The events kicked off at 8.30 from the old town, but people had been queuing up all day to get have their zombie make up applied by professional make-up artists.
The Zombies made their way through the old town and onto the beaches of Sitges.
Their route was lined with people and the Zombies wasted no time frightening everyone in sight!
Rabid nuns, crazy serial killers, zombie footballers…you name it, everyone was there!
The event culminated in a street disco and beach party.
Zombies were seen wandering the streets at 4am as they made their way to the discos.
The event was a huge success and has turned the Columbus weekend into something to be celebrated in Sitges.
