Sitges said goodbye to September and the start of a more tranquil phase in town with the Santa Tecla Fireworks.
This time, the weather was perfect and the Fireworks were mesmerising.
Santa Tecla is one of the final big festivals of the Summer Season in Sitges.
Our next big event is the Sitges Film Festival and the crazy Zombie walk taking place in October.
In the mean time, the town is working on a full program of events for 2011..with some special events planned to mark the arrival of the Spring Season in 2011.. and of course the Pride festivities! Watch this space for details.
The “Nit de Focs” was one of those up-close-and-personal nights with the dragon and beasts of Sitges! Using the Paseo was definitely a good idea for this event as it really showed off just how crazy the fireworks can be.
And its easier to run out of their way when compared to running down the streets of the old town!
Enjoy your Santa Tecla Festivities and don’t forget the fireworks display on Wed night from 11pm.
This week its the turn of Santa Tecla in Sitges. Yes, another festival and this one goes out with a bang! A spectacular fireworks display will take place on Wednesday night from 23.00hrs, right along the beach front. There are also several different street parades, fire walkers and more.

The Santa Tecla Festival is currently taking place in Sitges. Tonight is one of the key nights, with a special fireworks display taking place on the beach from 11pm.

If you’ve never seen the Castellers of Human Towers in Sitges, then here’s a treat for you. Here they are performing outside the town hall for the closing ceremony of Santa Tecla last weekend.
Last night saw some spectacular fireworks for the Santa Tecla Celebrations.
Crowds of people packed the beaches to celebrate the annual event.
Then it was off to the bars and clubs where people danced the night away!
The celenbrations cluminate today with the parade of fire through the town.
The route includes Fonollcar, San Joan, Davallada, Barcelona, Santiago Rusinol, Jesus, Cap de la Vila, Parellades, Bonaire, Psg de la Ribera, Major, Plz de l’Ajutament.
Remember to wear a hat if you intend to dodge the fireworks.
