It appears that everyone is in Holiday Planning Mode for 2010. After looking at our stats for tours for 2009, Port Aventura definitely comes out on top! Its an amazing park with amazing water rides and shows and its a great way to spend the day with a group of friends. Be warned though… bring lots of sunscreen!

The park has plenty of spine-tingling rides and other attractions, such as the Temple del Foc (Temple of Fire) and Hurakan Condor (at 100 meters, one of the highest amusement park rides in Europe). The park is spread across themed areas ranging from the Wild West to Polynesia.

Second on our top 5, is the day trip to Sitges and Monserrat. This is one of the most popular trips for visitors from our Barcelona Guide who want to see what Sitges is like and to take in the Torres Vineyard and the spectacular views at Monserrat. A definite must if you want to get a taste of what the area has to offer in terms of culture, gastronomy and scenery.

Third on our list is the day trip to Barcelona. For those on a budget, the tour bus is a great option! The Barcelona City Hop-on Hop-off Tour has three different tour routes to explore the city!

Finally, it appears that food is never far from your mind. And in this region you simply can not be forgiven for not trying some Tapas. Finally, most of the tours leave from Barcelona. Many people who visit tend to combine the city with Sitges in some form or other. Our advice is to use Sitges as your main base and take the train to Barcelona and if you do want to stay over, book a night or two in one of the many hotels in the city. Halloween kicked off for a lot of people at The Beach House Restaurant in Sitges.

The restaurant is open for the Autumn and Winter Season.

The atmosphere was festive and the restaurant was beautifully decorated …as were our hosts!

Dinner was a delicious 4 course affair with Beach House favourites including the 7 hour pork and the delectable fish cakes.

The beach house is open from Thursday to Saturday and Sunday afternoons for lunch.

This weekend is set to be a busy one in Sitges with the closing of the film festival and of course the Zombie Walk which was a huge success last year.

This years event will be televised live on Spanish TV. The event kicks off at 8pm from the Miramar building in the old town behind the church and makes its way through the town to the beach at La Fragata. A Special Haunted Castle has been built to house the Zombies!

If you want to get made-up as a zombie, then you can..for free! The make up is amazing and most of you wont recognise yourself afterwards! So you can get away with anything!!! The queue is going to be long and kicks off at 12pm.

The zombies will then have their annual Zombie Beach Party until 2am which is free for everyone to attend with guest DJs and ghoulish music all night! Enjoy.

It certainly looks like Sitges is in fitness mode this October. Yet another sporting event will take place this month. On Sunday the 18th of October, Fragata Beach hosts the annual Catalunya Beach Tennis Masters.

And believe us, these guys take Beach Tennis very seriously. They have their own sets of rules and over 20 teams will take place in this years competition.

The Spanish Sailing Cup takes place this weekend on the 10th 11th and 12th of October. The event takes place at Sitges Club Del Mar and will see a flotilla of single berth vessels take to the seas of Sitges in spectacular formation! Well worth a trip to the beach!
