The weather this weekend has been pretty windy in Sitges… with amazing waves and swells…

So much so that it attracted some major surfing talent into Sitges for the weekend.

Most of the surfing took place by the port but those who were by San Sebastian Beach were given a great display for over an hour.

You can see the surfers most evenings by the Terramar Hotel in Sitges during the winter months….

The Organic Dance Club is open throughout the winter. It has a slightly more mixed crowd, but is still a great night out and popular with locals and tourists alike. The club opens from 2.30am. Check out their listing on Gay Sitges Guide Here.

From the 5th of December to the 23rd of December, the Sitges Christmas Art Fair takes place at the Mercat Vell… (thats at the top of C.Major by the Town Council Offices). Perfect timing for the perfect Christmas Present.

The Barcelona Christmas Fair – “Feria de Santa Llúcia” opens on the 29th of November right in front of Barcelona Cathedral in the Old Town.

Its full of traditional Christmas Gifts and Decorations… some of which are quite strange. Check out Spain’s Christmas Traditions in our previous Christmas Posts here.

As for Sitges… well the Christmas lights and the Christmas Tree are due to be switched on this weekend.. We’ll keep you updated during the week.

This weekend we were in B-Side and Bourbons, two of Sitges most popular bars during the Winter Months.

The weekends in Sitges are still very busy with people escaping Barcelona and tourists taking an extra long weekend ….

Next year’s surfing competition, The Big Kahuna, has announced the 1st of March 2009 as the date of their annual longboard surfing competition. You can find out more by viewing the video below.

World Aids Day will be 20 years old this December 1st. Over the next few days we will be featuring videos and resources highlighting the causes and efforts of those charities and NGOs working in HIV/Aids research, support and activism.
