The Barcelona World Race is a new two-handed, non-stop round the world yacht race starting on the 11th November, 2007 [and to be held every four years]. For the first time, this race will see the world’s best professional sailors from both solo and fully crewed disciplines coming together to compete against each other in teams of two.
The race will pass Sitges on Sunday and should make a spectacular sight as it passes by the shore. You can view a copy of the promotional video below.
El Horno’s happy hour during the Autumn/Winter period is a local institution… so if you want to meet some locals, then head to the bar from 5.30 and enjoy an extra long happy hour while you welcome in another evening in Sitges. Don’t be frightened… they’re very friendly!

The port area is well worth a visit if you are in Sitges. There are some beautiful restaurants and shops along the port area…. not to mention the beautiful cars and yachts.

Local newspapers in Barcelona are reporting that train services will continue to be disrupted until at least Monday the 5th of November due to ongoing rail works to repair damage to the tunnels entering Barcelona. Bus services are running from Gava to the city centre, but there are delays at peak times.
