This week, expect disruption to the Sitges to Barcelona and Airport routes via train due to rail works at Sants Station. The train leaves from Sitges and stops at Gava. You are then transferred from Gava to Barcelona (Plz Catalunya) via Bus.
Currently, it takes approximately 1hr, 15mins at off-peak times, but expect further delays during busy periods. We suggest you get the Mon Bus, if at all possible (they have some very cute drivers by the way!). Check out Gay Sitges Guide’s “Getting Here” section for further details. The disruption is set to last for the week.
If you are in Sitges at the end of October, then its well worth taking a trip to the Port d’Aiguadolç to warch some spectacular Sufring. as the Big Kahuna Event takes place on the 27th and 28th of October. With more than 40 surfers showing their skills, it should be a great event… and who doesn’t like the a cute surfer boy every now and then! Check out www.thebigkahuna.es for further details.
The Jafra Natural Park is just 10 minutes drive from Sitges and is one of the biggest in Spain. If you are going to visit, why not check out the guided night tours, where the park takes on a compltely different atmopshere. Alternatively, you can visit next weekend and cheer on all the fit boys taking part in the annual Jafra Olivella Cycle Race.
Its worth exploring the different towns outside of Sitges, if only for a day. Rent a car and hit the road. Relax as you take in some of the most amazing scenery as you drive through some of the best vineyards in Spain. For full details check out the Natural Park’s website.
This Sunday, 22nd October, the Second Annual Sitges Beach Tennis Masters takes place on La Fragata Beach in Sitges.
There’s bound to be some hot guys playing beach tennis…and if the weather keeps up, it should be a great day out. Check out the video below, after the Catalan introduction you can watch the best of each tournament with the Grande Finale in Sitges.
Gay Sitges Guide will have photos of the event for you on Monday. Enjoy!
No sooner does one film festival end, than another one begins….. The Barcelona Gay Film Festival is one of the highlights of the Gay Calendar in Barcelona with lots of parties themed around some of the major productions. You can find full details on the offical website.
Another day, another beautiful Sunset. The fun of the film festival has ended and the town has returned to a reasonably peaceful State. Expect the weekends to be the busiest times at Bars and Clubs.
The weekend saw an invasion of more Star Wars figures as they made their way through town frightening unsuspecting tourists!
Desigual also sponsored these rather strange “Bike-Shaws”…. we rekon we haven’t seen the last of these… its a great way to get people to move out of the way if the streets are busy!
Finally, there is always something cute to photograph in Sitges, whatever the time of year! Water Delivery Boys… yum!
Today is blog action day, a day when more than 15,000 blogs around the world are focussing on one of the most pressing issues facing the world today, the environment.
Love her or hate her, we choose Madonna’s video to highlight the issue of climate change…. it puts a positive spin on the doom and gloom, where each of us can make a difference. Either by recycling or changing our behaviour we can all make a difference to climate change. Everyone of us can make a difference.
